Organizational Structure
|
The Board of Directors, approves all missions and controls NACEC. Management is in charge of
day-to-day operations. The Board of Directors also charges management with developing the organizations
operational planning and implementation after review and approval.
The Disaster Response Team Support Equipment Bank consists of all of the non-communications equipment needed
by the disaster response teams. This is everything from trucks to tents and generators to hydration packs.
This is the equipment needed to conduct a mission and to make it possible for the response teams to live and operate
for long periods of time within a disaster area. Again, upon completion of a mission the equipment will be inspected,
repaired or replaced if necessary, and returned to the equipment bank.
The Communications Equipment Bank is a key part of the organizations ability to provide its life saving
services. Without it NACEC would not be able to respond with support to any disaster operations. The
equipment bank will include the large amount of HF/VHF/UHF/Microwave voice and data communications
equipment needed to conduct our missions. When a mission is complete all equipment will be inspected, repaired
if necessary, and returned to the equipment bank for use with the next mission.
Prior to November of 2010 the equipment bank was totally empty. Thanks to some of our partners and sponsors,
as of mid-December, the equipment bank has now reached about 2% of its full capacity. Work continues to
add to this equipment bank. Our hope is to have it contain enough equipment to start providing emergency
response services in 2011.
The Technical Staff has a dual function. They serve as the technicians for the field team when a mission
is in progress. They also provide the repair and maintenance needed for all of the equipment in NACEC's
communications equipment bank.
Office Staff makes sure that the office runs smoothly. They provide a wide range of tasks from grant writing
to maintaining communications with those organization and agencies that we may be assisting with future
missions. They also do all of the paperwork and inventory records maintenance functions for the organization.
NACEC Volunteers play a very important role in the operation of this organization. Volunteers help with almost
all facets of the organizations operation from deploying with and helping as part of a NACEC disaster response
field teams. If they live in the disaster area, they help the field team find local contacts. Volunteers also
help manage and operate fund raising and informational events needed to provide some of the financial fuel that
keeps NACEC in operation.
Last but perhaps most importantly are our Partners and Sponsors that provide many things like new and used
equipment, technical information and yes even funding, making this entire operation possible. Without their support and
participation we would not be able to carry out or primary mission of saving lives, reducing the suffering and
stress of the victims of large-scale disasters.
Below is a chart of NACEC's basic organizational structure.
